DESIGN CHALLENGE: 6th STAGE  TEST      Hello everyone, this is the 6th design stage in the design challenge, In this stage, I will be TESTING the prototype. That doesn't mean that this is the last stage, there is always room for improvement. Upon the feedback, I will keep going through the (Ideate, Build, Test) stages until I get to the goal. I utilized Solidworks and Adobe Aero to  build & test the prototype in AR . I had an interview with Ahmed after he tested the prototype in AR, he gave me his feedback and comments.

DESIGN CHALLENGE: 5th STAGE  BUILD      In this design stage, I will be Building my prototype to experiment and test.  I chose to utilize AR (Augmented Reality) in my prototyping stage since my project is a restaurant furniture piece, which is huge to build as a mockup and actually test... I start with 3D modeling then exporting to an iPad so I can see the model in AR and its real size in real life. *I didn't model the transparent plastic around the furniture because it will be opaque in AR mode. Here are some of the 3D modeling processes: For the next stage, I will let Ahmed (my user) interact with the model (in real size) and experience it using AR, then take his feedback. See you next week!!

DESIGN CHALLENGE: 4th STAGE  ITERATE      In this design stage, I will be pitching my concept development to Ahmed and he will give me feedback. This stage is about finalizing the chosen solution/concept and developing it to finally meet all the user's needs and also defining and refining it from different points of perspective to qualify the design to be able to be manufactured and sent out to the world and make a difference! Below is my concept development and some notes to further explain it. I had an interview with Ahmed to pitch him the developed concept based on his feedback and my research.  I changed some things to satisfy different points that my design might encounter, such as assembly, maintenance, and power usage. Also, from a business owner's pov, and how can my design benefit his business and achieve success. all the parts are further explained in the video interview down below:  For the next stage, I will be creating a prototype to tes...

DESIGN CHALLENGE: 3rd STAGE  IDEATE      In this design stage, I will be sharing the possible solutions that I came up with and show them to Ahmed through sketches in a recorded interview.  I had an interview with Ahmed where I explained my solutions and how I approached the problem, he gave me feedback on each of the 5 proposals. Ahmed eventually chose a concept that he believes will address his problem and please him as a user.   -Below is the interview we had, you will see how I conducted the interview where I faced some obstacles and I overcame it.  Please let me know in the comments if you agree with the chosen concept!!   I chose to have an interview because I prefer to get my feedback face to face, to be able to read facial reactions and tone changes which can give information that cannot be given verbally, or when an interviewee doesn't understand a certain thing. I hope you enjoyed watching the video and see you in the ne...

DESIGN CHALLENGE: 2nd STAGE  DEFINE For this design stage, I will be sharing my analysis of my past interview with Ahmed. -Below is my Reframent of the interview and how I defined the problems. Now I have the green light to think about SOLUTIONS to the problem, I always try to hold myself from thinking about solutions while I am addressing the problem to not get distracted, But now I can think about different ways to satisfy Ahmed's desires and solve his problem! I will utilize digital sketching to present my ideas to him.  For the next stage, I will pitch my ideas to Ahmed (and hopefully he will like some) and record the session, see you soon and wish me luck!!  ❤️

DESIGN CHALLENGE: 1ST STAGE EMPATHIZE The first stage of my design process is Empathy.  I will define the problem by gaining empathy from the user and addressing their problems and needs. I Interviewed My brother Ahmed, I chose him because he has experience in the design industry, so he's the perfect Interviewee since I will be able to empathize better and gain more valuable information. -Below is our interview details: For now, I will analyze the interview and try to think within the words and in deeper thoughts. See you in the next stage where I will share my findings!!
