DESIGN CHALLENGE TOPIC June 27, 2021 For my Uni I have to document the design process of my project.  I have to pick one of these topics. DESIGN CHALLENGE TOPIC: Human-Centric Principle: Product/Industrial/Furniture Design Testing to see if its health-tracking wearable can detect COVID-19 symptoms Embrace Social Distancing with these comforting furniture designs. Long-term impact of pandemic on the consumer packaged goods industry, how is COVID-19 impacting food and beverage innovation?  Personally, I am interested in the second topic:  Embrace Social Distancing with these comforting furniture designs. Since people still have to go out and embrace the pandemic, I want to contribute with my designs to help us overcome the crisis. Humans need to socialize and go out, we can't live alone or away from each other, we still need to share our energy. Therefore, I'm interested in Restaurant's furniture.

                          Studying Product Design (online) Empathy, It's the ability to understand and share the feelings of other humans. Empathy is crucial for communication and a big part of being human .  Renowned psychologists Daniel Goleman and Paul Ekman have identified  three  components of  empathy : Cognitive, Emotional and Compassionate. Cognitive: “Simply knowing how the other person feels and what they might be thinking. Sometimes called perspective-taking.” Emotional: “When you feel physically along with the other person, as though their emotions were contagious.” Compassionate: “With this kind of empathy we not only understand a person’s predicament and feel with them, but are spontaneously moved to help, if needed.” In my studies, I am required to use empathy in my design process.
